All 2 hour workshops will include a tour of Sea Bluff Farm. Rigorous COVID safety measures are in place. All activities are outdoors under an open shelter. Please dress for the occasion. It can be cold and windy.

May 8th, 3:00 - 5:00 PM

Many of the pollinator all-stars will be out in full bloom in our restored meadow at Sea Bluff Farm and in our hedgerows. We’ll walk around and learn their names and roles in the ecosystem. We’ll cover the basics in planning your site for a long season of flowers and sustenance for native species in all types of habitats. We’ll also talk about the best places to find these beauties in our local parks and how to care for them along the sides of the trails.

Presented by Sasha Kubicek

Sasha Kubicek grew up exploring the forests of Metchosin, and the alpine meadows of the Island’s peaks. His enthusiasm for native species is infectious and he is credited at the BC Museum for finding several rare species never before ….He’s turned this knack into a career at South Island Native Plants where his attention to detail is channeled into propagating and caring for these essential plants. Sasha is a co-manager at Sea Bluff Farm where he heads up our seed saving and breeding program.
